Colonial Mining Authority agent Natalia Hallowell doesn’t always play by the rules, but she wouldn’t compromise a case either. Put on administrative leave under a cloud of accusation, with no support from her boss, Natalia seeks a little anonymous companionship at her favorite bar. But she’s surprised when the woman who catches her fancy starts buying her drinks.

Desperate, Genevieve “Gennie” Caine had no choice but to seduce, drug and tie Natalia to the bed to get her attention. With the Reyes Corporation after something she has, Gennie needs Natalia to open an investigation and distract them long enough for her to get off Nevarro.

Natalia doesn’t trust Gennie—despite the growing attraction between them—but the corporation’s suspiciously high profits convince her that they must be hiding something. But she has no idea just how deep the deceptions run…

My Thoughts:

This was an interesting read that is well-paced with strong female leads.

Natalia is having one of the worst days in memory when she meets an interesting woman at a bar.  She is intrigued and soon enough they are on the way up to the woman’s hotel room when she’s drugged and tied up.  When she wakes she is understandably pissed and isn’t quite willing to listen to what the woman has to say.  The next day however she has nothing on her hands but time to see if what the woman says is true or not but doesn’t expect it to pan out.  After getting put on suspension for suspicion of taking a bribe to look the other way while a company perform illegal activities she decides to truly look at what is happening at an outlying mining operation but only to prove the allegations and give her a chance to have something else to do than obsess over her potential career ender.  She’s torn when she goes undercover doing the same job her family did for generations but at the same time this makes her learn more about someone who will become her everything in life and show her what it means to really live again.

Gennie just wants to get off-planet and give her kids a chance to live a life where they aren’t constantly looking over their shoulders for her deceased former lover’s family.  She knows they had him killed and now they want to take her kids from her by any means necessary.  She turns to Natalia out of desperation and instead finds someone who could be her partner in not only uncovering the secrets she has bits and pieces of but also in life.  She’s not easy to get to know because she’s so worried about keeping her kids safe that she just can’t trust but she’s smart and strong enough to face her fears over and over in order to make them be safe.  I liked how she was willing to cross lines in order to protect her kids but I didn’t like how long it took for her to finally let Natalia in.

They both have major issues that get worked out in the book and I enjoyed seeing them come to an agreement even when they really didn’t trust one another.  Their chemistry is definitely off the charts but it does take a bit for them both to really let each other in and start to think as a team.

A descendant of the Angel of Vengeance, Nate da Luca was gifted with an uncanny ability to find things. It made his job as a detective a breeze—until he learned the hard way that some things should remain hidden. After that, his powers vanished, along with his belief in himself. Which is going to make tracking down Gabriella Littlefield for his latest client a challenge.

Personal trainer Ella Little paid a hefty price for her life—now all she wants is to live it in peace. Then a sexy hulk of a man turns up in her gym, reigniting desires she thought she'd left behind along with her real name and hair color.

Desires she can't deny even after she discovers Nate's no stranger to her dark past.

Before he can convince her the attraction is mutual, Nate's going to have to earn Ella's trust. But a demon is playing for keeps in the world of humans, using Ella as bait, and the last thing they have is time.

My Thoughts:

Another wonderful entry in this series about the hidden offspring of angels and humans.

Ella only wants to live her life in peace without having to be confronted by the evil that made her run and hide.  She knows the monster is dead but when she meets our hero she is forced to confront not only her own fears but that the monster she thought was dead might not truly be gone.  She’s strong but is so unwilling to trust anyone that she lives an almost half-life full of fear and distrust.  As she has to confront long dormant sexual urges she also is fighting her own inner demons that keep her from fully letting this man in to her life and her heart.  I liked how she had made a new life for herself but that she also was strong enough to recognize the fear for what it was and not let it win.  After surviving a killer and running away from the life she once knew she also lost a major part of herself and until Nate has been unwilling to let her guard down even the tiniest bit.

Nate is struggling to figure out exactly what he is now that his powers have seemingly left him.  He is hired to find the victim of a serial killer in order to give her funds left for her by a member of the psychos family but discovers not only her but a side to himself that he was never willing to acknowledge until it is forced out of him under extreme circumstances.  As you get to know him and what makes him tick you can’t help but be drawn to him and want to help heal this wounded warrior.  He’s so convinced that he has nothing to provide from a  supernatural standpoint that he puts himself on the line in other ways to help this woman he found when she was taken.  I loved how much he needed Ella but I also loved that we got to see him really work through issues that have kept him bound for his entire life.  Seeing him come in to his own and start to trust in himself was wonderful to read and I appreciated the time we got to spend watching him work things through.

The bad guy in this is one creepy demon and getting glimpses of the others via the Web was a nice treat.  I cannot wait for more from this series and I have to thank Stacy for writing yet another fun tale.

Hotel chain CEO and millionaire Wyatt Monroe is a stick in the mud. Sure, he's hot as sin, even with the tie, but free-spirited assistant Megan Bradford refuses to jeopardize their perfect working relationship. Why mess that up with sex? She knows he's the love 'em and leave 'em type, and she's determined to find a family man. Wyatt would never cross the line between boss and employee with Megan, no matter how hard it might be to resist the temptation. But when they visit a mysterious B&B in a bid to acquire the property, he starts having erotic dreams about the sexy brunette that make it hard to resist her in daylight.  Soon the line between reality and dreams further blurs when they learn they were sharing the same erotic dreams…

My Thoughts:

Wyatt is very career-driven and tends to focus on what he’s doing more than living life.  He’s been having some crazy dreams about sexy times with his assistant but while they are steamy he just can’t make the move he wants to.  He’s always been attracted to her but is unable to take the chance on making a move.  He’s very understanding about practical things but not so good at the intangibles in life.  As he realizes that there is more in life than just work he becomes someone I would love to know.  He has a secret thing for comics so that was fun to see but the rest of his life made me sad for him as one should not be happy living that way.

Megan was always free-spirited but after a meeting with Wyatt when she was working at a B&B he took over made her rethink her priorities.  She understands him better than anyone but still has those moments when her fanciful side comes out.  She’s had these sexy dreams about a mystery man but never figured out it was Wyatt until they stumble on the fact that both of them are dreaming the same things at the same time.  She’s more willing to accept the paranormal than Wyatt but the good news is this made them both make a move they wouldn’t have normally made.  I enjoyed watching their interactions and especially enjoyed how good she was at managing his obsessiveness.

The moments they were together in the dreams were fun but I enjoyed the give and take that went on between the two of them as it showed that they were truly equals.  Special thanks to NetGalley.com and Entangled Publishing for giving me the chance to read this in exchange for my honest review.

Angela Peterson was always the quiet, shy kid growing up in Harper Falls, crushing on the high school quarterback and honing her football strategy skills. Now grown up and coaching the high school team, she’s shocked when that same sexy quarterback returns to Harper Falls asks her back to his hotel room. And then tries to steal her job.

Injured NFL quarterback Cade Reynolds is in Harper Falls to take over as interim head coach, and he never thought the tall, blond bombshell he propositioned would offer up any resistance. Not to a repeat of the amazingly wild night they shared and certainly not to his coaching position.

But the Harper Falls High Eagles are Angie’s team, and even the hometown hero won’t take that away from her, no matter how hot he is. As the two engage in a battle of wits and wills, this is one game neither is prepared to lose.

My Thoughts:

Cade is only back in town for a couple of weeks as a favor to his old high school coach and to give him time to finish healing from an injury.  He’s still hoping to get back to being the quarterback for an NFL team but owes the man who was a surrogate father to him the world.  He’s intrigued by a woman he meets while out for coffee and they engage in an incredible one night stand.  He’s not happy when he wakes up the next morning and she’s run off but when he finds out that she’s the assistant coach for the football team he’s supposed to be head coach for he just can’t believe his luck.  It starts out with him being a bit pissed off and wanting to get even with her for leaving him but as he spends more time around her he’s a goner.  He’s smart, alpha and yet has enough sense to figure out what is truly important in life.  I loved how he took other people’s thoughts and future in to consideration before he made a decision except in typical romance land fashion… neglects to complete think his decisions through and their impact on the heroine.  He’s redeemed though as he never hid anything from her but he just needed a nudge to do the right thing.

Angela has always had a thing for Cade but back in high school she was always the nerdy girl who happened to be big in to sports and he was the high school star quarterback that was nice enough to let her talk about how the team could improve.  She’s always wanted to be the head coach and is not too happy when Cade comes in to take over the team while the head coach is out for health issues.  She’s used to fighting the prejudice that comes with being a female trying to coach a male dominated sport but she’s smart and has a natural head for the game.  She decides that the one night stand she had with him should be it for them but as Cade keeps pushing for more and more time with her she can’t help but indulge.  After all she knows he is really trying to get back in the NFL and she just won’t fit in there as she only wants to stay in their small hometown and coach for the team she loves.  She’s got an entertaining father and some issues with believing in herself but this isn’t a turn off and isn’t something that feels like whining.  She’s very practical and does have trouble taking help but when it is offered in such a way that it makes sense she’s willing to back off and listen.

This was a very nice read that I have to thank Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for.  I loved the story and appreciated the chance to read it in exchange for my honest review.
